Ok Esties 2018 is fast approaching and all of us are up to our eyeballs in Christmas Cheer (Holiday promos) SO looking at goals and the New Year seem daunting YET, we do need to reflect, gear up for renewal and Reboot our Biz! So, to get you thinking about reflections I wanted to take a minute to share what I invested in this past year and to give you some insight into what worked for me. My hope is that if your local you’ll join me in January for the “Gear up! Get going!” event with other local Esties. This event is meant to inspire you to be gentle in February with your badass self and to approach the New Year with a solid framework that is doable, approachable and realistic.
There is a tremendous amount of new data out there on Goal setting and some amazing realistic approaches to completing projects, in a timely manner. Let’s face it Esties we wear lots of hats, projects and distractions prevent us from completing things in a time that allows for us to get a jump on the Seasonal Selling that can push that profit. With that said here are some things that I invested in this past year with a little insight as to why it served me and how I made it applicable to the business of SKIN!
First off, I invested in MYSELF, My Soul, with not one but three online programs right around the Holidays last Season. Tonya Leigh - I needed some personal inspirations and she spoke to me and my Sista Soul! Therefore, it was an even better fit to share insights and her info to my Client base. She is gifted at reminding Women of their desires, and that they are way more than their job and their roles as wives and Mothers. She is perfect for any biz that is influencing Women.
Another online class was a Style class (even though I wear a uniform) Hilary Rushford is one to follow and watch, energetic biz genius and contagious. Style and Style ability is a fun program to just get back to yourself and the rut we get in with age and how we approach clothes, accessories and putting it all together and making an effort in oneself. Love it!
As professionals we need to stay on top of our game and Hilary is again one to stay relevant and connected. I also invested in her Instagram program - at 53 I’m a tad dated with my Social Media skill set and quite frankly behind the mark. This is what I’ll be going into over the holidays to get on top of this in 2018 NOTE: Hilary is a great investment in self and biz!
NOTE: Online programs can be a slippery slope, 90% Peeps do not complete online courses so be careful and be very excited about what your investing in so you actually do them.
Female Entrepreneur Association - Carrie Green is another creative that rocks my world! She has simple easy implemental tools for all! Great business sense and her membership is $35 and worth every penny, lots of tools and resources.
Beauty Biz Club - This is the Famed Lori Cretes new membership it’s a tad pricy $79 a month yet if your committed to your Beauty Biz she’s one to follow, very relevant to our industry. I love that with both these memberships you are not locked into them they are month to month.
Coaching - I’m still working with my Coach here in Sacramento Katrina Sawa. I’ve yet to fullly take advantage of her, yet the fee has allowed for me to have access to her amazing rolodex. She is at my service 24-7 through email and text. She offers 4 live events yearly which are amazing for networking and resources! I believe in Coaching! (If any locals want to attend her events I can bring you as a guest at a discounted rate)
Educations - Sometimes this is simply an investment in time. I have invested hours in Product knowledge classes meeting with product Reps and online research, YouTube videos and continued time honing in on my craft. This is a MUST!
BOOKS! This is by far my favorite investment I’m always hungry for information, Human condition along with just being curious about the world in which we live. I’ve included my top 20 reads with a list of current one.
Plated - home meal delivery this has been a gift to self. the ease and the convenience along with healthy no fuss no thinking about what to fix and best my 14-year-old and hubby can prepare. I’m a huge fan of these services to insure eating well. I’m currently looking into Purple Carrot with the plant based movement and a Sister who has seen amazing results in her health and how she feels I’m excited to have this available. It will be my go to in 2018
I also tried the Danette May 30 Day Challenge - The meal plan was worth the money yet the Apple Cyder Vinegar with lemon every morning was a challenge. Her resources are great, I’m not sure if it was a good fit for me.
Lastly, I believe that are surroundings both at home and work are also an intricate part to being successful. Beautiful Skin beautiful everything, I just treated myself to a few fun courses about creating more abundance through Feng sheu and decorating with the intention of living a life of abundance, peace and success so ASHLINA KAPOSTA is my gift to myself for this Holiday season. (follow her on Instagram: Decorista)
What’s on your list this year to invest in you and your biz?

Some comfy house slippers to wear to work - Local Moms created a line that are Royal worthy BIRDIES check them out for a comfy stylish addition to your Salon. They are fabulous and even the new Princess-to-be owns a pair.
